  • From first contact to feedback, the process is simple and structured. After a 60-minute intake to understand concerns and history, we complete a focused testing block tailored to the referral question (e.g., ADHD, Autism, Cognitive, Learning, or Functional). We offer adult and child/adolescent assessments for ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, as well as cognitive, learning (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), and functional capacity assessments. We also gather rating scales and any school/work information in advance to minimise the time impact of assessment on your daily life. Your integrated report (plain English summary + clear conclusions + practical recommendations) is aimed to be delivered within 2–3 weeks of testing, followed by a dedicated feedback session to explain results and next steps. We stay in touch with referrers (with consent) so that recommendations translate into real-world supports.

    • We can assess adults, adolescents and children

    • We see private paying and self- or plan-managed NDIS clients. Note that we would not be able to offer services for NDIA managed clients or and do not provide reports intended for use in court.

  • You will be booked in for an initial appointment at the cost of an initial session to understand your concerns, developmental history, symptomatology, etc. At this point we determine whether further testing is needed, and the specific assessment battery that is best tailored to your needs. Importantly, the cost of this initial session will be taken off the total cost of the assessment. A quote will then be provided to you, and if you wish to proceed, then we will require a 50% deposit prior to starting the testing. The remaining 50% of the total assessment cost will be required prior to the feedback session.

    • NDIS: If you have NDIS funding, you may be able to use it to cover assessment costs with written confirmation from your plan manager. However, the NDIS will not fund diagnostic assessments unless it has been directly requested by the NDIA. Review and Cognitive assessments can be funded in some circumstances and depend on your individual plan. Please contact your Local Area Coordinator to ensure you can claim the assessment fees.

    • Private health funds vary widely in coverage, depending on the type of cover chosen. It is advisable to contact your specific fund to enquire whether your extras cover includes this and the amount of rebate applicable.

    • Medicare (ASD assessments, under 25): Clients under the age of 25 may be eligible for Medicare-rebated allied-health assessment sessions when a paediatrician or psychiatrist prepares a Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder management plan and refers for assessment (psychology item 82000). This pathway allows up to 8 allied-health assessment services per lifetime (usually 4 + review + 4), with age and referral rules applying. See this link for more details.

Contact us
  • You don’t need a referral to book an assessment. We accept both self-referrals and professional referrals.

  • Most assessments involve a 1-hour intake, one or two 2–3 hour testing block(s), and a 1-hour feedback session. Reports are delivered within 2–3 weeks of testing to allow for comprehensive scoring, clinical interpretation, and preparation of a clear, decision-ready report.

  • Any prior reports, school letters, Individual Education Plans, and completed rating scales. We will let you know when these are needed and provide assistance where necessary.

  • For under-25 autism assessments, a paediatrician or psychiatrist can initiate the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder pathway, which provides a limited number of allied-health assessment sessions. This rebate applies only to assessment of autism. If you’re unsure, please get in touch with us and we can discuss.

  • We do not see NDIA-managed clients, and we don’t prepare medico-legal/court reports.

    • If a full assessment isn’t indicated, we’ll explain why and you’ll only pay for the session attended.

    • If a full assessment is indicated, we’ll explain the rationale and you will be provided with a quote for the cost of further testing.
