Dr Emma Doolan | Clinical Psychologist Newcastle

Emma is a clinical psychologist with a warm and flexible approach. She aims to work collaboratively with her clients to help them identify, understand and overcome challenges they are facing. She has experience working with individuals presenting with a range of difficulties and concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, trauma, eating disorders, and more. Her approach focuses on providing evidence-based treatments, primarily within a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) framework, while also drawing on other modalities such as schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion focused therapy.

Emma holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology, Master of Clinical Psychology, and Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She has experience working across a range of settings, including Lake Macquarie Mental Health Service (LMMHS), and the University of Newcastle Counselling Service. She holds full registration and endorsement as a clinical psychologist from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a board-approved supervisor. Emma is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), the Australian Psychology Association (APS), the Australian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), and the Anxiety Practitioners Network (APN).

Paige Cornell | Clinical Psychologist Newcastle

Paige is a clinical psychologist with a warm, person-centred approach. Paige has experience in a variety of settings including private practice, non-government organisations and custodial contexts. Paige emphasises the therapeutic alliance and utilises a mixed-modality approach with treatment tailored specifically to the individual, comprising of evidenced based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

 Paige enjoys treating a range of mental health concerns including anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use disorders and addressing offending behaviours. Paige has a particular interest in working with people who identify as part of the LGBTQI+ community, people who experience difficulties associated with trauma, substance use and forensic presentations. Paige holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Newcastle and Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from the University of New England. She holds full registration and endorsement as a clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a board-approved supervisor for provisional and registered psychologists. Paige is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), and the Australian Psychology Association (APS).

Taylah Armstrong | Clinical Psychologist Newcastle

Taylah is a clinical psychologist who enjoys building strong and trusting therapeutic relationships, to help individuals improve their wellbeing and progress towards their goals. Taylah has experience working with a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, stress, perfectionism, mood disorders, trauma, and disordered eating and body image concerns. In her work, Taylah draws on several evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Taylah has experience working in public and primary healthcare settings, and the tertiary education sector. Taylah holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. She holds full registration and endorsement as a clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Paige Whitfield | Clinical Psychologist Newcastle

Paige is a clinical psychologist who is invested in improving the wellbeing of clients of all ages and their families. She has experience working in both private practice and public health settings with children, adolescents, and adults. She works collaboratively with other health professionals as well as families and schools to ensure the best treatment outcomes for her clients. Paige prides herself on her ability to create an environment that fosters collaboration and trust with each individual client to manage and treat their presenting issues.

Paige provides evidence-based treatment using several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She works across different areas including adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, life changes, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, and study or work-related stress.

Paige holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Newcastle and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Western Sydney University. She holds full registration and endorsement as a clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Dr Kaitlin Fitzgerald | Clinical Psychologist Newcastle

Kaitlin is a clinical psychologist who enjoys working from a collaborative and person-centered approach, which positions the client as an expert in their own recovery. She appreciates that coming to therapy can be tough at times, and aims to create a warm and relaxed environment where there might even be space to share the occasional laugh.

Kaitlin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. In addition to her work at ELD Psychology, Kaitlin also works in the public mental health service treating adults with a wide range of complex mental health concerns including psychosis, personality disorders and trauma. Kaitlin has previously worked in general mental health settings with individuals across the lifespan experiencing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. She has also worked at Hunter Spinal Cord Injury service where she provided psychological intervention to individuals for issues including grief and loss, chronic pain, and adjustment to injury.

Kaitlin draws on a number of evidence-based treatments in her work including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
